We grew frustrated after participating in several leagues that none had the right balance of social and competitive. Social leagues didn't offer challenge while competitive leagues didn't let you socialize with the entire community. Enter Friendly Fire Pickleball League.
Our mission is to create a vibrant community where young professionals in the Houston area can connect, compete, and have fun. Whether you're new to the area and looking to make friends, hoping to find a potential romantic connection, or simply want to improve your pickleball skills, Friendly Fire Pickleball League is the community for you.
This league is specifically designed for individuals. While we encourage you to invite your friends to join as well, you'll compete and be scheduled as an individual player, giving you the opportunity to meet and play with everyone in the community.
LEAGUE INFORMATION
6 WEEK LEAGUE
5 regular season weeks followed by a season finale playoff tournament where all players participate!
The season is $150 per person.
LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Friendly Fire Pickleball League has alternating ladder and social matches.
Each player has
1 hour Ladder Match (7-8pm or 9-10pm)
30 min Social Match (8-8:30pm or 8:30-9pm)
HOW YOUR WEEKLY LADDER MATCH WORKS:
Ladder Matches are competitive play that counts toward your rankings
3 games total (rotating partners)
Play with each person as your partner once
HOW YOUR WEEKLY SOCIAL MATCH WORKS:
Social Matches are focused on meeting new people
Courts and opponents are randomly assigned, and players form teams on the spot.
It's a great chance to mix, mingle, rally, and share tips—how you use the time is up to you!
OUR SCHEDULE
The Friendly Fire Pickleball League runs Thursday night from 7:00 PM to 10:00 pm. Each player gets a minimum of 90 minutes of play each week between your ladder match and social match.
DIVISIONS AND RATING DESCRIPTIONS
The league will consist of 32 participants this season. We offer an Upper Division and Lower Division to ensure competitive and social play.
Each division will consist of 16 players. Players may be relegated between divisions during the season based on performance.
Players will initially be sorted based on self assessment. There will be separate playoff brackets for each division.

1 – "What's a Pickleball?"
👉 Never played before. Might serve underhand like bowling. Here strictly for the social vibes (and maybe the bar).
2 – "Kitchen Criminal"
👉 You think you know the rules, but the kitchen line keeps betraying you. Serves are a coin flip, and every point feels like a mini-miracle.
3 – "Rally Rookie"
👉 You can get some rallies going, and the serve usually lands in. Dinks exist in your game plan, though not always by choice.
4 – "Weekend Warrior"
👉 You're holding your own in casual games. You mix in drops, drives, and the occasional lob. Consistency is improving but mistakes still pile up in pressure points.
5 – "Spin Enthusiast"
👉 You can actually set up points instead of just surviving them. You know when to dink, when to drive, and when to punish floaters. Likely to have watched YouTube tutorials on "third-shot drops."
6 – "Court General"
👉 Strong strategy, reliable shots, and you've probably played in leagues or tournaments. You force errors as much as you make winners. People start whispering "not fair" when they see your name on the lineup.
7 – "Pickleball Menace"
👉 You dictate rallies, punish mistakes, and make it look easy. Other players tell their friends "I just got smoked by this person in league." You might secretly dream of APP or PPA glory.
